INTRODUCING OUR LENT THEME:
CULTIVATING THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT
Lent is when we set aside intentional time to till the soil of our spiritual lives. A time to add some nutrients and remove any rocks or weeds that may be blocking growth. This image fits perfectly with the theme for our Living Compass Lent booklet this year: “Cultivating the Fruit of the Spirit.” The nine fruits of the Spirit mentioned in Galatians 5 will be our focus, and who among us can’t benefit from a focus on cultivating love, peace, joy, kindness, faithfulness, generosity, gentleness, patience, and self-control?
Again, we are blessed to have the voices of so many gifted writers. It takes a village, and we are grateful for those who have contributed their voices to our booklet.
We are also grateful for the many villages, i.e., congregations, that use our Lent resources to cultivate spiritual growth in their local communities. The soil of each of your communities is where the fruits of the Spirit can best take root.
It is an honor to come alongside you and support your essential work.
With deep gratitude,
Scott Stoner, Living Compass Founder and Director
